Hi, my name is Joe the Cocker. I am quite new to this amazing area. Where we lived previously, we used to post a quiz on-line, showing photos of parts of buildings and places that people walked past every day. The task was to identify the building or place. It’s just for fun, no prizes, sorry! I will do the same in other villages and towns in the surrounding area. The first Pen y Cae quiz was very popular, so we thought that we would post another one. See how you do. You can simply type your answers in the REPLY box on the blog or just keep a note of them yourself. I will post the name of the person who identifies the most each time if they would like. I will post the answers about 2 weeks after the questions are posted. There is no ‘catch’ to this. I won’t pester anyone. It’s just for fun! Good luck!
1. Where in the village can this be found?

2. A foundation stone. But, where is it?

3. Do you recognise this place?

4. Where is this King George V post box to be seen?

5. Where does this door lead to?

6. Have you noticed this in the village?

7. This house was known as something else. Where is it?

8. Where can this cross be seen?

9. Where is this old Methodist Church?

10. An easy one to finish. Where can this inscription be seen?
Good luck 👍

the answer is I don’t know it at all. But it looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing your photos!!

In my childhood and teen years I made annual visits to my Nain in Johnstown, sometimes staying as long as six weeks. I very rarely visited Penycae, as I didn’t really know anyone there. Needless to say, I scored nil points on your quiz.
